It is not my intent to start a new discussiion here, but I would not want to encourage anyone that the resuilts of an edited task will be the same as a non-edited task.

A change of schedule or stopping of schedule can be done from main menu without using the task edit function. If editing needed, then I stop using the old task and begin a new task pointing to a new and empty storage folder so all mixing of backup files from other tasks are avoided. The rules which I practice is that I avoid all edits of the backup task. While editing is permitted by the Acronis program, my experience over the past few years including the current version, is that editing very rarely produces the results anticipated by the user. Your comparison to Paragon implies that you are actively editing the TrueImage backup tasks. Editing settings for a scheduled backup is clumsy. And after reading the forums it sounds like going to Paragon 14 was the right thing to do. But, I wouldn't put my faith in this product after what I went through with 2013 version. But, keep the faith maybe you'll get it resolved. Good luck with your problem sounds like you got a nasty one.

Needless to say the only way I'd even try 2014 is if was provided as a free upgrade from my 2013 at this point after the poor quality product I got. I've already gotten into the other issues.

Everything works as advertised without any issues and it even setup up SSD as a UEFI drive for fast boot into Windows 8 and eliminated the MBR without losing any data! It was fast too.Р”Р„nyway, I typically like Acronis but as I said beyond basic backups valuing an upgrade at 19.99 isn't going to happen when you've screwed over your 2013 customers with shoddy backup service that was worthless to use when it actually came to restoring as it would take days to download and constant timeouts. I'm going to pass as after the amount of problems I've had in the past and the lack luster support of everytime I opened a ticket the solution was to reinstall it or something was corrupted I threw in towel and opted for Paragon's Hard Disk Manager Suite 14. The basic backup was good, however but don't expect anything beyond that which it sounds like you are. Days to get a download from a backup and the service was entirely useless. Tech support worked with me for about an hour. When I tried to recover the backup, all available drives were shown in RED and the message states, 'cannot recover the selected partition'. I was able to get a backup of the drive, and validated it. Acronis would not allow the 4TB drive to be cloned. The failing drive had about 1.6T free space. I wanted to clone the disk to a new SATA 4TB drive. I was having intermittent problems with a 4TB Seagate USB Drive (intermittently going 'offline').
